Talking Question about a new stall install

Hey i just got my vig 2600 stall installed with a shift kit (stage 2). I was wondering if during slow exceleration if it was normal to sound kinda like your stuck in first gear. Kinda seems like im dring with the shift in 1st or so. It does shift fine but it just seems like it. Also on the highway at like 60 mph or so the stall seems to be almost locked at 2k rpms and it drives almost like normal . Car is a 94z28 bolt ons 1.6 rockers, 2600 vig lockup, shift kit etc. I' just wanna make sure everything is going right since ive never been in a car with a stall before. Also are the 1.6 rockers louder then stock or do they break in and sound somewhat normal after awhile. Thanks alot in advance.

PS i did a search but didnt answer my questions fully, thanks

Re: Question about a new stall install

I'm not sure if I get what your asking. But I'll try to answer. Your car is gonna rev higher(possibly longer) apon takeoff after a stall. It would probably sound like it's in first longer just because it's revving higher and your getting more noise. Sounds normal to me. The worst for me was backing out of my driveway. It's kinda an uphill slant onto the road and at first it seemed like I was giving it 1/2 throttle just to get it moving. I'm used to it now, but kinda made me nervous at first. Something I do when I'm just tooling along really slow is let it shift into 2nd then give it some gas to get going. Then it stays nice and quiet. Really hard to do that though, cause man is it fun letting the tires loose at 30mph. It will only take a few days and you'll never notice, just give it a little bit. I'm not sure where it locks up at but you will know when it does. Like I believe you mentioned. Mine is very very noticable in both sound and rpms when it finally locks up. Hope this helps.

Re: Question about a new stall install

Yep helps alot, thanks. When i picked up my car i had to go up a steep incline and i really had to hit the gas to go forward. Yeah it is nice being able to break the tires loose at 20-30 mph lol. I just wanted to make sure this was normal. Do you have a tranny temp guage? If so what temp was it before the install of the converter and what is it now after with a tranny cooler ?

Sorry, I don't have a temp gauge. Something I've considered doing but have never gotten around to yet. Since it's been a few days how does the car seem to act now? Are you getting used to it?
