quality/stregnth of B&M torkmaster converters???
anybody know how good of quality or strength those B&M torkmaster converters are. I only have around 275hp and 345lb.ft. torque, but will this converter hold it well and last a long time?
As with most converters, there's been both good and bad feedback here. But with B&M in particular, I've seen much more bad than good. FWIW, I have no experience with them, just what I've seen mentioned here.
I think I'd get an SLP converter (made by Yank) before a B&M if I were looking for a more budget friendly converter.

I've owned two B&M converters (2400 & 3500), and the 2400 was a Torkmaster. I used it for about two years and never had any issues with it, and I believe our engines are putting out similar power numbers. My 3500 is a Holeshot and it's been great too, although I've only had it for a few months.
Long term, you get what you pay for...I'm a HUGE Vigilante fan...8 years 420rwhp NO problems, no freshening...even give you a free stall upgrade and UNCONDITIONAL 2 year warranty...$700 may seem like a lot, but after 8 years I can't complain...I'd save for a great converter and not "settle." just my opinion...

Stay away from B&M. I had a 2400 Holeshot and it lasted about two months. The converter crapped out and took the tranny with it. A $300 mistake turned into a $2,200 purchase from Art Carr. The best piece of advice you'll hear from this site is you get what you pay for. Just my $.02.
