I like my pro 5.0 not to fond of the long shifter handle so i cut an inch off it. now its a lot better. easy to shift, a lot better than that stock hurst piece of crap. you can cut the shifter handle an inch with no problem, there are plenty of threads, or you can buy a short stick.

I had a B&M shifter shortly before i bought my pro 5.0. the B&M was good, and ive had reverse problems with my pro 5.0, and it wont let me put it in gear real fast, it has a lag or something, then it click into gear. which should have nothing to do with the shifter, i got the B&M ripper shifter or whatever its called from ebay for $25 shipped, lol, and sold it for like 125 or something. then bought the pro 5.0 cause it seemed like it would be better. I might just need to have someone else reinstall and set up my shifter for me, or have my tranny looked at to see if there is anything wrong with it. but it shifts good when it wants to.

ps. how do you go about shortening the stock 5.0 shifter handle? and rethread it? whats a good amount to take off?

The B&M is a good product. Mine came with the "ripper" shifter already installed so I can't really say how different it is compared to stock or other products. I've had no problems/complaints though. Shifts with the flick of the wrist...

You might want to get your tranny looked at. It is not the shifter. There is nothing for the shifter to restrict you. Might be a synchro or your clutch faulting.
