Picking out the right 9 inch

I have an opportunity to get a 9 inch for my 95Z out of an old Ford truck and I was curious if I could use that 9 inch and build how I need to or would this wind up costing me more in the long run than buying a moser or other aftermarket rearend? What would I be looking at having to fab to get to bolt up? Also are there any certain years or models I should stay away form? Thanks
