park doesnt "click" in

learned a new problem today...i ALWAYs use my parking brake..and good thing i do...parked real quick the other day and got out for split second and as i did i realised my car is slowly starting to move still...park wont "click" in unless you put the gear selector in park and juggle side to side front and back...every other gear works perfect! hold it in first it stays nuetral is nuetral and have no problems with reverse, im hoping its a problem in the console somewhere can anyone direct me?
i know its not the bracket on the side of the pan...and its barely off...
thanks

Your shifter cable needs to be adjusted. Put the car on jackstands and disconnect the shift cable on the transmission lever. Push the lever all the way into park. Double check this by making sure the driveshaft doesn't turn. Put the shifter in park, and then see how much distance you need to adjust the cable until the cable eye is even with the lever ball.
