Pack a tranny?

What is the best way to pack a tranny up? I am getting ready to send my tranny to CPT in the next month and want to have everything ready to go. Any ideas? Also who would be the best place to ship something of this size?

First time trying to ship a tranny.

I hate to say this but did you try ashing Frank? I know he has had a lot of them shipped to him from all over the country, I am glad I live about 45 minutes from him. I will do a search and see what that brings up, because I believe Frank has put shipping info up a few times.

Re: Pack a tranny?

I shipped mine to Frank in a plastic Rubbermaid bin that I bought at Walmart for $15, it was the exact perfect size for the trans and I just then taped it up so it wouldnt open in transit.

with the oil drained a 4L60E weighs 137 Lbs in that bin that I shipped it in, so you are under the 150lbs limit of courriers like Fed Ex and UPS, but it will probably cost you in the neighborhood od $120-140 to ship it from Vegas, and its well worth it for a CPT Trans!!

I installed mine last night but unfortunetly its raing so I havent got a chance to really test it out with the Protorque 3200 stall.

Cool, thanks for the responses. I know most of the ups counter people are a pian to deal with out here. They would freak if I brought the trans down in just shrink wrap..lol. But the rubbermaid idea seems perfect.

Now to just get it ready and decide on what stall to pick up with it

I got a Protorque from Frank with a 3200 stall, my car is just boltons with N20, Now this crappy weather has to pass so I can try it out on a dry street and I will let you know how it works out.
