Well youneed to provide more info about your vehicle to know anything... And 3.73's are not harder on the rear or tranny unless not set up right...

1995 with 323s i believe it is a series 3 carrier am i correct

Yes, as far as factory GM RPO production components. Only aftermarket gear suppliers provide a gear set that will provide a ring and pinion gear that will allow mounting a 3.23 ratio on a series 2 carrier.
And no, GM never used spacers to adapt 2 series carrier - 3 series R&P components.

Easiest way to determine if you have a 2 series or 3 series is; can you select the 1 on your shift console? If not then you have 2.73s and a 2 series carrier.
