My 93's built 700R4 died and I found a 700R4 out of a 85 T/A as a 'short term' tranny to put in it until the built one gets repaired this winter and also the car can at least move on its own. Besides the obvious 93 tranny's to fill in, can I use a 700R4 from this 3rd gen? And if so how would it have to be modified to made to work? I can get the donor tranny this upcoming weekend, so the more detail provided, the much more appreciated!

To use it as a temporary trans you will need to wire up lockup for 4th gear only. There are several ways to do this one being and aftermarket lockup kit . There are several other ways . Now if the car is only used for short trips and no highway cruising you can just leave the lockup unhooked while you wait on the other trans. But now if you ry to drive any extended period on the highway the trans will over heat.
