oops is right lol. I did the same thing a few years ago the 2nd weekend i had my new motor together. 10 bolt with 4:10's and a zexel posi. did a hard 1-2 shift on street tires on the street. when it popped i thought i missed a gear, needless to say after i was towed home (only a 1.5 miles) i opened the cover and you couldent recognize the posi, it was ripped off the ring gear and in
1"-3" pieces. I also broke one carrier cap, snapped the bolt off and tweeked the other side. The sad part is the ring gear only had one tooth missing. now i have a dana 60

Wow...shattered would be a pretty good description. Time to drop in a Moser 12 bolt.

At least it was demolished so you didn't have the option of rebuilding it.

Nice piece. I have a 12 bolt in my Vega, too. I figure, it's one of those things you can just forget about breaking from now on.

Wish I had remembered to torque the bolts on 'both' calipers before I took it for a test drive, but that's a story for another thread..........................
