Question Off the forum question...

Hey guys, sry for the off Forum question here, but i cant find any Grand prix forums anywhere.None that help. My g/f has trouble getting her 94 grand prix in drive. she fiddles with the shifter for awhile before the car actually moves. theres no prob getting the indicator to D, but the car doesnt grab gear right away. "ignorantly asking", Will changeing out the trans fluid fix the prob, or are we talking much bigger probs? Any answer will help...

Changing trans fluid and filter probobly won't cure it.

I assume by "D" you meant the first gear past N, which is usually OD. It may be a mis-adjusted linkage. Try moving the lever one more notch down called "3" on some quadrants, and "D" on others. If the trans goes into gear immediately, it's most probably linkage adjustment. That should be an easy fix.

Try the external things before you go inside the trans.
