Odd M6 tranny noises.

Was coming home from the drag races today, and on the way home noticed a couple odd tranny noises.

If I was going 30 mph, and I engaged clutch fully, and put it in any gear lower then the current gear (usually 4th, so 3rd 2nd or 1st) the tranny would make a weird rough whine. The clutch was fully engaged, and I was just coasting with foot off the throttle. Otherwise shifting was working as normal.

Could it be possible I've never noticed before? Is it mabye just the syncro mesh doing what it's supposed to be doing?

Thanks.

Re: Odd M6 tranny noises.

I think I am having the exact same problem as you. Please let me know what you find out.

I had a weird way of explaining what I was hearing...
If you take one of those toy cars that you pull back and let them go..pull it back and pick it up and let the wheels spin. that is what it sounds like...on a larger scale and with a light vibration

can you feel a vibration in the shifter too?

If I was going 50 in 5th and tried to downshift to like 3rd I would hear it...but not while going up through the gears
