Now Spec 3+ is gone (1000miles)

My first clutch Spec 3 is gone after 500miles. I mean it was slipping (I think). Let me describe the "slipping";
I can't press the gas pedal while I'm driving around 2000-2500 rpm. My transmission vibrates like crazy. Then after 2500 I feel vibration on the gas pedal. I can feel the clutch can't hold the flywheel.

After I changed my Spec 3, I got a Spec 3+ which is the most expensive Spec clutch. Any way after 1000 miles the same thing happens.
I think I will order Mcleod ST, but I'm sure something is wrong, and I don't want to do this to Mcleod as its $$$.

Everytime I change the clutch I change the friction plate which is on the spec alu. flywheel. So there is no need to resurface it right?

Every time you change the clutch you need to have the flywheel resurfaced. At least that is what I do to make sure there is no uneven wear or ridges that I cant see. Have you rechecked to see if the pressure plate bolts are still tight. If they vibrate loose I am sure that the problems you are describing could happen. I have a Spec stage 3 with about 10,000 miles and haven't had any problems.

wish I can drive it 10000 miles!! I didn't take out my spec 3+ yet, but when I looked at my Spec 3 before, I saw the disk and friction plate on the flywheel were black. I mean it was like burned.
I use the car in the city, in the traffic also. I never go to the drag races. I don't do hard launches, as I have 10 bolt rear end. So we can say that I use really tame, only road races (rolling). I will check out this on monday, It is only 1000 miles.

Mccleod single 7500rpm disc and Ram Al flywheel and it's great. I hear B&M owns Mccleod now but not sure.

I was so skeptical when I got my Spec because of reading threads like this.

I have had mine in for about 2500 miles now. Did the proper break in and now I beat the living daylights out of it. It drives just perfect. At first I had some really bad clutch chatter but it's gone now.

I hope you get your problem fixed. It always seems like a hit and miss type thing with these cluthces.

When you switched from the auto to manual, did you put a pilot bearing in the end of the crankshaft? A clutch will not last long if it is missing.

Also check Tail Shaft Seal on the Transmission. I went through 3 Clutches only to find out that the Tail Shaft Seal was bad and leaking onto the clutch. Basically check all leaks that could get any fluid on the clutch. Once I replaced the seal my SPEC Clutch holds like champ, 4,000 RPM Clutch dumps and all.... now my rear end isn't liking them, but that's a different story......

Do you mean the rear main seal on the engine.. since the tailshaft seal would be at the back of the transmission.. Would be interesting to figure out out fluid got from back there to the clutch lol.

Did you replace the slave cylinder when you eplaced the clutch? I have heard of alot of people losing them. I think thats whats going on with mine right now. I have the Spec 3 and its slipping and chattering when i stomp on it. Even without spray. Im also losing the pedal. Just a thought.

Yeah, wasn't thinking when I wrote that

But basically any fluid leaks than can get onto the clutch need to be addressed...
