noise and rear end shaking from axle play

ok so i just replaced my rear end in my 02 z28 w a similar rear end w trac control and 3.23s which was the same stock setup i had. when i started driving i first noticed the rear end makes a banging chatter type of noise from the rear end when i would hit bumps or harder rough spots in the road. i replaced the shocks shortly after to no avail. when i get up to around 55-60 the car starts to shake from the rear passengers side wheel. i had the wheels balanced and no change. after jacking the car up and pulling on the wheel up down and side to side i noticed i had some play, about 1/8th of an inch. i changed the wheel bearing and oil seal and reduced my play to about 1/16th inch . the shaking still persists but its just not as bad. does anyone have any ideas what could possibly be the problem?

Re: noise and rear end shaking from axle play

update : it seems as if im getting noise from both sides now ! i havent checked the other side for play in the axle yet but i will soon . im looking into possibly the bearings on the insides of the differential housing ( on the outside of the gears) maybe this is causing the problem. anyone that can help me at all i would really appreciate it. this is my daily and im really trying to avoid any possible damage that may be coming.thanks
