I can't figure this out and need help badly. My A4 does not have overdrive. Everything like the fluid and such is fine. All other gears work flawlessly. I can put my shifter in OD but will behave exactly like 3rd. The only difference is when I take my foot off the accelerator, the rpm's will settle very low as if I had OD. If I have my shifter in 3rd and take my foot off the accelerator the rpm's are usually commensurate with the speed of the vehicle. Any help is greatly appreciated as I have been trying to figure this thing out for quite some time.

 

Well first thing to do is hook up a scanner and see if 4th is being comanded, Then verify it electrically I can give you some simple test for that. After that you are dealing with only two possibilites, Stuck Valve body or Servo issue.
