My car has no first gear, my car starts in second!! And one of my trouble codes said - 1st to 2nd shift solenoid. So what do i do if my 1-2 shift solenoid is done. Do i have to rebuild my tranny. Even when i put my shifter into 1 it does into 2. So...


This sucks so much

if its just a solenoid i dont see you having to rebuild the tranny....all the tranny electronics are housed down in the bottom of the tranny under the pan...im not positive but as far as i know, all that needs to be done is have the tranny pan dropped and the solenoid replaced...(assuming its the solenoid itself...it could be the associated wiring which would be a relatively simple fix too once the problem is isolated). in any case if you dont have broken parts in the tranny itself, you dont need a rebuild.

 

did you ever get this fixed??? did you do it yourself or have somebody do it for you??????////

 

does your car go past second? i know that there are for some reason if the tranny starts messing up for an auto it will start in seond and only stay in second?i dont know why they do this ?

 

i think it only stays in second or is it third///////??? humm im no t sure. but I can tell you this though. it wont go into od or past like 3k rpms on the highway, and theres no 1st gear!

 

Yea it goes past 2nd. Just no first. I was thinking of getting a performance tranny rebuild like beef it up

 

IF ITS A SOLENOID...CAN i change these myself??? how hard is it??????
and more importantly ho much do those suckers cost???????

Hey man, its ok i was just saying. You have a soleniod problem too? Does one of ur codes come up saying solenoid a b, or ??

Do you have a shift kit in ur tranny?

If you find out anything, tell me, ill do the same if i find out anything
