need suggestions for a new transmission

Currently have a 93 z28 with a 700r4. Last weekend at the track the transmission started slipping badly and it has gotten much worse throughout this week. Basically I want the toughest baddest transmission I can get for under 3k. I've heard horror storied about Performabuilt. I wanna do a tt358 build and need something too hold up too quadruple torque digits!!! What do u guys think?

Performabuilt posts here.... maybe they would have offered some input if you hadn't trashed them based on what you "heard".

If everyone followed the rules, and posted in the correct forum, there'd be a lot more action here.

Sorry you are unhappy with the moderation.... but haven't we been through this discussion before?

4L80-E w/ the independent controller.
Or a sequential coil/plug conversion starting w/ 2002 5.7L van pcm/tune; use that to run the trans.

Re: need suggestions for a new transmission

Trashed them? Wtf are you talking about trash them. I asked a question and posted what I've read through countless hours of searching through google. There are numerous stories about there transmissions being great and horrible. What did we discuss before? I have never once mentioned a word about how threads are moved and how no one actually posts too them because of inactive branches of the forum. Obviously you and I have a problem and you like talking down to me because of one single incident that occurred months ago. Im surprised they haven't jumped on here in the 24 hours this post has been active but you assume they noticed my "trashing within the last two hours" now what you're implying is that everyone who says they've had a bad experience with these guys is based on total lies? I highly doubt that. If you had read my post it states that im looking for a transmission that will hold up to 1k+ hp. Now according too their site they don't offer a transmission that will withstand that kind of power and I was curious if anyone has pushed either of these companies 700's too that limit. In no way shape or form was I insulting Performabuilt so ibwould appreciate it if you didn't twist what I said and make me out to be the bad guy here because you obviously dislike me for an incident that had absolutely nothing too do with you but rather with a few people im sure your "buddy buddy" with, btw I apologized too all parties involved in that incidebtvand since then I've received some very good help from them so whatever your problem with me I would think it is time too let it go, and realize that im on this site too get help not slander a sponsor.

Re: need suggestions for a new transmission

Im unhappy with the fact that people need help and post in an often-viewed forum only too have it moved too an area that has little to no traffic. And im not specifically talking about myself I see it happen too lots of people who post in the lt1 engine forum. I think the reason they post there is they want insight from the guys who frequent there and for lack of a better term "know their s**t". If I offended you in any way that was not my intentions but honestly I was offended by the fact that you made it sound as if I was stating what I heard too slander a company that sponsors our site. I have seen messages to and from Performabuilt regarding a few transmissions and frankly it concerns me. Im looking too build this car for the last time and want everything perfect with no loose ends.

I forgot too mention I was looking at probuilt transmissions as well. That's what I was referring too when I said both companies.

Thank you very much j.d.m. p.t.a.c has a 4l80e computer -less fir around 3500 that handles 1200 hp. May do some research and go this route if its as good as it sounds.

Re: need suggestions for a new transmission

Dennis - you need to grow up. I don't treat you any differently than anyone else. Over the last few months, in spite of your previous temper tantrum and insults, I've helped YOU as much as I've helped anyone else.

The forums are organized to put specific topics in specific forums. I agree the system isn't perfect. In fact, I've been working with no success for more than 2 years to get the forum alignment changed to make them more useful.

Not sure what your reference is to my being "buddy buddy" with certain people. Again, you just choose to throw insults at people rather then deal in a mature manner. I treat everyone the same. If you have any problem at all with the way things are handled, deal directly with ChrisF and JasonD. I'm sure they'll correct me as required.

Continue to rant in this thread, and it will be closed.
