K, I have a T56 out of an LT1 car, I would like to use it on my LS1 in my 3rd gen. now, they say the input shaft length is different, is the LT1 longer or shorter??? And could I use the transmission anyways on this motor. I have everything for the conversion but need to know if I can use it or not. Thanks alot for the help

 

The LS1 shaft is longer. Yes you can use the tranny still, but you wil need to change the input shaft. Yo might try talking to a guy who goes by the handle redroc wrench. He's from the grand rapids michigan area, his name is andy showerman. He's a great guy to do business with and I know that about 2 months ago he had a spare LS1 input shaft. BTW the new price on that part is about 400 USD
