need help with rear end info

Recently bought an 84 parts car and the previous owners who are big time f-body restorers said the rear was a 3.73 posi rear end. Is there any way to test the ratio besides spinning the wheels and counting the number of times the driveshaft spins? I've done that with 5 different camaros and firebirds and each time I got only 1 and 3/4 turns per tire rotation on all cars. Any codes anywhere I can check so I don't have to pull it out and rip it apart to find out what I have?
