need help on a 4l60e

I am trying to rebuild my 4l60e and put a shift kit in. This is my fist one so trying do it one time I hope. the book I got say to leave out the load-release springs. And that will provides quicker application of the 3-4 clutch pack. but i need to make sure there is a hole at position #44 on the separator plate. Well I do know where that position is at all. And is there any thing more I should look out for? Thank you
