Question My gears are somewhat rough to switch

Whats up Guys, I have recently noticed that every time i switch gears, they seem a bit rough. Instead of easily switching in between gears smoothly. Like when i also try to put it into reverse, it doesnt and when it does it takes a little pressure. Is there any type of oil i can put in here somewhere to make it smooth? This is a 1996 z28 camaro 6 speed. Any advice?

Are you running the recommended Dexron-III? Is it full?

How many miles on the clutch?

Im assuming so? Not sure what the last owner was running on it before i bought it.
As of how many miles on the clutch, i can not give a specific number as i do not know if it was ever changed.
-Quick update: I just installed new tanny fluid, i went with 4 quarts of penzoil atf, dexron111 approved as labeled in the back of quart. It shifts a bit smoother now but i still feel as it is a bit rough. Doesnt Feel just right.

IF someone used synthetic ATF at any point, it could have damaged the synchros. Tremec warns of this problem in the factory repair manual.

Possible the clutch isn't fully releasing. Have you checked the level of the hydraulic fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir?

Re: My gears are somewhat rough to switch

Take the cap off the reservoir, and see if it's full of DOT 3 brake fluid. Reservoir will be on the firewall, to the left of the brake booster/master cylinder.
