Are My Gears Gone?

I am not sure what the problem is, but I have a 95 z28 and anytime I give a bit too much off the line I feel it grind a bit in the rear and it sounds like it is on the right side. It makes a sound like gears are stripping but I am not really sure what it is. I t only happens when it seems the rear end is getting too much torque.

M6 or A4 ? it sounds like it could be your gears but you wont know unless you take the rear cover off and check it out.

Sounds like a stripped axle (splines) to me.

How can I tell and what do I need to do if it is, replace the entire axle?

Just wondering because Manual trasmissions are more prone to making grinding noises that autos.
