Is my clutch shot

Little background info, car is a 96 SS with about 80k on it. I've had it for about a year and 9k miles. The clutch was supposedly replaced a year before I purchased it or 2 years ago.

Since I've had the car, it has made some rattling noise every now again when taking off from a stop at a low speed, but from reading here I've found out its most likely the throwout bearing and isn't a big deal at all.

Fast forward to a few days ago, now when taking off at low speeds, when the clutch is about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up before shifting into second, there is a grinding type noise that always occurs at the same spot relative to clutch position and I can feel it in the clutch pedal. If you just lift the clutch pedal up faster then usual you will not hear a thing and it doesn't do it in any other gear.

Hmmm, that could be your throwout bearing, too. If the clutch isn't slipping at all, it should be ok.
