Moser Ford 9" install now noise comming from tranny

Okay finally over this last weekend i got my car running again. I just swaped the rear end over to a moser Ford 9" rear and all spohn rear suspension, ebiach drag launch springs lakewood shocks and wilwood pro-street brakes. I brought the car to my mechanic to install the brakes (dont wanna mess up there) and when the tow truck was backing it into the driveway i hear this weird nosie like a metal/rubber to metal sound clicking, so i think wow i guess these rear ends are loud. So i finish the misc stuff i had to do charged the battery and finally got her started again. Still wery over the new rearend and my thoughts and of other friends I wanted to warm up the rear end before moving the car. With the rear end supported on jackstands i shifted the car into drive and let my foot off the brakes. Then i hear the sound again, this time getting progressly louder as the tires spin faster. praying to *** that that was not my new rearend i put on the brakes and had one of my friends do the same thing(let car idle) as i try to locate the sound. to my relief the sound was not coming from the rearend but by the yoke on the transmission, or around there. Oh and a little backround. rear end locked up going 35 under no throttle in the spring. I replaced the rear end, and was hoping to get a probuilt trans but money is tight right now so i have to wait till the spring. The transmission leaked about 1 quart of fluid while at the garage, because the drive shaft wasnt in.
Im guessing (well hoping) that it might be the front ujoint because the sound clicks about as fast as the driveshaft turns. again it is a metallic/rubber to metallic sound.

Please tell me the driveshaft was out when it was towed, and that the rearend was on the hook, and not the other way around. I use to drive a wrecker. Unless the driveshaft was out, you are NOT SUSPOSE to pull it on the drive wheels, even when in neutral. Not saying this is your problem, just saying it is worth a look.

the wrecker did hook on the front, and the driveshaft was in, what could it have done?

I also have a 9" and HAD the same problems as you.

First if your running the stock DS shortened what size u joints are you running up front and out back??
If you have the standered 9" yoke on the rear witch is a 1330 size the stock Gm will fit in but will cause it to bind when tightened down causing the squeek up front.

To fix your problem make sure first that the DS is now the right lenght..aprox 1/2" shorter then stock. Now make sure what size your yoke is on the rear and get the right U joint (spicer solids are the best) for it. If you running the stock DS you may have to get a conversion yoke ( 2 sizes on the same yoke) ex: 1310 for the DS side and 1330 for the yoke side.

THIS IS YOUR PROBLEM. Good luck!!

thank you so much, how do i find out what size u-joints i need for the rear, i heard about the stock ones not fitting, but i figured the old u-joint would not fit the pinion. i guess i am going to have a driveshaft built, because the old steel one ant in the best shape, and i just so happen to have 1000$ to spend Thank you so much again, i have had this posted on 2 message boards, since sunday, with very little responses.
Thanks Again
Joe

OK here you go....

Stock Gm U joint is very close to a 1310 but GM is metric measured or something so...

GM U joint=1310
Standered Ford 9" is a 1330

Unless you ordered a 1350 Yoke on your rear you have a 1330 series yoke. I'm going to confuse you a little now so I'm sending a PM with my Cell # so I can explain in detail to you!!
