Moser Drive shaft+Moser 9" experts help please

Hey guys, I have a Moser 9" housing, and a A4 tranny. The driveshaft is a Moser piece, 3.5 Aluminum. I put my engine and tranny in yesterday and today I was going to put in the driveshaft in but it does not fit, the slip yoke seems like its too long. The splined part of the slip yoke is 4 1/2" long, it only slides into the tranny 1 1/2" then stops, leaving 3" of the slip yoke in the open, it just seems too long. I measured the stock slip yoke and its only 3 1/2" long. Does this mean i have the wrong slip yoke or my DS is too long? I called Moser and they were clueless, and the place where I got the rearend and DS is out of business. What should I do?

It sound's like the yoke may be slightly thicker and is getteing stuck in the tailshaft bearing. Compare the old yoke to the new and see if the old yoke slides in all the way. If you have a micrometer measure the two...(good luck)
