i had a stock ls1 driveshaft in my car for 3 years, and it made it through a hundred low 1.5 60's and quite a few 11.0 runs in a 3580lb raceweight car.

also you will need to make rear swaybar mounts,3" muffler clamps work well as a starting point.

You will definitely need the U-joint conversion. I think it is a 1330 size but I'm not 100%. I just took the whole "Pig" to a clutch and joint place and they matched it up for me. Make sure you get the longer pinion yoke (part number for an old Torino I think) the short one will leave your ds about 1.25 inches too short. The Torino pinion yoke tends to make your ds too long by about 1/2 inch. I was ok because I have the 1LE replacement shaft which has an overall length match to the original steel one, but the tube is about 5/8 inch shorter with a longer front universal so it wont bottom out.

I forgot to also mention that along with not swaybar mounts, there are also no emergency brake cable mounts, or brake line mounts on the Moser. I think that is pretty crappy seeing as how they charge over 2k for the thing. Also, if you plan on driving the car on the street alot, don't get a locker posi. They are a real annoyance! I just got one with my Moser, and I haven't had it a week and I hate it! I so wish that I had gone with a clutch type one like I had in my Caprice. The thing never slipped at the track in 3 years and drove like a champ on the street. Used to run 12.20's @ 108 1.68 60 foot with 3800 stall and 10" slicks.

If you have an 6 speed, you will end up twisting the splines of the stock yoke. If you have an auto, you will be fine.

Can anyone confirm this part #, I tried on Napa.com and it doesnt come up as this part. I started installing my Moser 9" this weekend and want to use the 1LE shaft I already have if that will work.

Well, I got the #447 Napa u-joint conversion to use with my 1LE ds and it didnt work. The ujoint is the right size to bolt up to the pinion yoke on my 9" but the other two smaller caps are just slightly bigger than the stock ujoint and it wont fit in the 1LE ds I tried using the stock caps from the old ujoint and they dont work with this new one. Any ideas on another u-joint that will work or what I'm missing here? Thanks.
