missing 3rd and fourth
missing 3rd and fourth
I have a 4l60e with bolt-on lt1 and pcm4less pcm out of a 94 camaro and I have a problem.
Stock transmission never had 4th when I put it in the truck and 3rd went out shortly after.
So I had a gm transmission mechanic rebuild it with parts from http://www.transmissioncenter.net/4L60E.htm I got #k2 which came with their wake up kit and bought a new 2600 STALL Torque Converter.
I filled up the TC and installed the transmission and everything was working perfect. I even checked to see when the stall was kicking in and if the torque converter lockup was working right with TTS scan program.
I put about 7,000 miles on it and all of a sudden it would lose 4th and then third. If I came to a complete stop they would work for a little while then go out again. So when I got home I checked the fluid with the truck running and in park and the level was right and the fluid looked fine but smelled a little.
My tranny guy said he'd take it apart and look at it for free, all I have to do is take it out for him.
I don't want this happening again. So I called transgo to ask about there shift correction kit and they said since I had a 94 I had no pwm and that kit would not fix my problem of losing 3rd and 4th.
Should I tell my builder to leave out the load realease springs on 3rd and 4th?
Someone please lead me in the right direction. I thought about the solenoids going out but if one or both went out there's just no combination to lose 3rd and 4th.
