Mileage and stock 4l60e
I haven't seen a thread on this yet so i thought i would start one.
Basically just wondering how much miles you guys have with your factory 4L60E. I thought this would be good for a reference.
Ive got 33,000 miles on mine with no problems

Re: Mileage and stock 4l60e
I have 95K on it right now and it has started to slip every so often so a rebuild in on the agenda for the Summer before I start taking the car to the track and spraying.
Re: Mileage and stock 4l60e
142k on the car, 120k on the auto. Had a tranny cooler for it ever since 63k miles when i bought the car. Swapped to a T56 in Sept. 2003 with 92k miles on the car, then it took a crap on thanksgiving 2004 when the odo hit 114k miles. I put the auto back in b/c it was just sitting in my dad's shop and i couldn't afford to get the T56 rebuilt $$$
$$$ It's still going strong, but I don't beat on the car and never really have with the auto in it (for fear of breaking the auto). Can't afford to break it right now or for a while to come neither (graduating college next month with a ton of debt). But I was a little harsh on it with the manual... feels great rowing through the gears behind a 350
But for an auto, a tranny cooler helps a lot.
Some last, some don't. A friend of mine had a 95 Z28 A4 since new and he beat the **** out of that car. He sold it in the spring of 2002 with ~170k miles, and the auto was never touched... didn't even have a tranny cooler on it. Still ran and shifted great when he sold it. But the only mods he ever did to the car was a CAI and a catback. Power mods tend to kill these things when you beat on them. I did the mods in my sig basically for gas milege (~20mpg stock, 25-26 with the mods).
