McLeod street twin install problems
McLeod street twin install problems
Hey all,
The dealer is installing my clutch for me (the whole McLeod street twin package). For the past week they have been telling me they cannot "get it to bleed" and they "think it might be a bad McLeod master cylinder".
Before I go through the trouble of going to the dealer, picking this thing up, shipping it to McLeod and so on ... does anyone have any experience with this problem or can give me advice?
Thanks!

Re: McLeod street twin install problems
I assume this is an LT1 master, not an LS1. For the LT1 it is pretty straightforward, no drilling required. Takes 2 people doing it the way McLeod recommends. One to push in the plunger of the clutch actuator assembly under the car, the other to cap/uncap/refill the reservoir as the level begins to fall. If they are really having trouble with it, maybe your actuator is bad or there is another problem. I think it is pretty unlikely that the master is bad though not impossible, it is a very nice unit machined out of billet steel unlike the factory plastic unit. Sorry I couldn't offer more advice, but you may want to ask them exactly what the problem is with bleeding it? You do have to take it slow and can't just pump on things and expect it to work, which is the attitude of most dealerships.
