Mcleod Clutch Problem

Hey there.

Had mcleod single disk and master cylinder installed about 500 miles ago. Hasnt been shifting right since. I often need to pump the clutch pedal to get it to engage higher up in the throw. Even then, its fairly unpredictble when it will engage. My system is tight as a drum, no leaks of any sort. Mechanic says my slave cylinder is fine (i have an 02 z28), and the master is new. Also, the master cylinder was adjusted several times. That's not it.

The tranny was dropped yesterday, and they say that the teeth on the clutch arent lining up when it's installed.

When the clutch was removed, the teeth lined up fine. However, only the lower half of the plate was worn. Is this normal after only 500 miles? also, are the teeth the problem? or do i need to get these drilled out lines that people talk about? have you heard of these? are my stock lines the source of so much anguish?

Id appreciate any help. Thanks.

Re: Mcleod Clutch Problem

If your having to pump the pedal, it sound like it has air in the system.
