M6 shifter

OK ... finally did some serious racing this past weekend. Did well...lost twice when I couldn't find third. I have a 93Z with M6. The guy I bought it from said he installed a short throw hurst shifter. The shifter **** does say Hurst and it doesn't seem to have a very long travel distance. Anyway it shifts great most of the time under normal driving with a couple of instances when it gets lost in neutral going to third. Seems to be more prevelant under WOT. Is there any adjustments that can be made? Better shifter? Better driver

Never used the Hurst, just the stock and the Pro 5.0. I've missed third before with the stocker, and I've never missed it with the Pro 5.0. The Pro 5.0 feels very precise and positive. You could try to get a Pro 5.0 or just practice with yours.

Yes you can make it better.......

Get a Lou's short stick for the top half of it, that will take out some more travel feel and give you more control.

Also when shifting into 3rd while racing dont shift like "normal" driving= up over up. Use the palm of your hand and push it over at like a 20* angle FAST. You can do this slowly also while driving arround town to get the right angle down for your hand to be in. It should feel like one smooth motion if done correctly.

Get the Pro5.0. I have it and love it to death. Very solid, fast, and accurate.
