M6...shift forks??

Just looking to get a little info. The last couple of weeks my car has been popping out of first gear. Its been kind of random, it seems like it is is gear and when I let out the clutch it pops out and smacks the crap out of my hand. Also since I bought the car I have had trouble getting it into sixth. The tranny was rebuilt about two years ago, and only has 6-7 thousand miles on it. A couple of people have told me that the shift forks are bent. If so, where can I get something stronger (ie. viper shift forks), how much should I spend, and is it possible to do it myself? I work at a shop as a light duty tech, so I have access to a lift, and a lot of tools. Also, is there anything else that I should replace internally (keeping in mind that it was recently rebuilt)? Thanks for any advice.
