LT4 pressure plate?

What is the difference from a stock LT1 pp? How can you tell the difference visually between the two?

Re: LT4 pressure plate?

lt4 has more holding power. the lt4 pressure plate is typically used by most aftermarket lt1 clutch makers. visually, i'm not sure excactly on what to look for, but i hear there is a visual difference

Re: LT4 pressure plate?

The finger's are diff.. on a LT4 they're kinda flat and on a Lt1 they have a ridge in the center.. FWIW All Spec Clutches use the Lt4 pp and i know autozone clutches use them as well...

Re: LT4 pressure plate?

Ok thanks, I was trying to figure out what my pressure plate was for sure. I know it is a replacement from a parts store, trouble is I dont know which parts store. It says Valeo on it of course, (I'm sure they all do) I think it might be an LT4 pp because the fingers are flat with no ridge in the center. Its fairly new and seems to be in excellent shape so I am thinking of reusing it with an upgraded disc (and changing the TO bearing too of course)

Here are some photos:

The only differences are the diagphram spring fingers. The cases are the same.

Re: LT4 pressure plate?

Thanks for the picture, it was truly worth 1000 words After seeing that, I can say 100% for sure that mine is an LT4 PP I'll be checking back with you to see how well you like that new disc, I might just end up with the same setup as your car...thanks again
