LT1 T56 stock flywheel question

Just pulled my engine the other day and this is what my clutch looks like after sitting for 10+ years:

1. Do you think I could get away with resurfacing the flywheel and then buying a stock or aftermarket pressure plate and disk?
2. What's the stock clutch torque rating? Doing an LE2 heads/cam upgrade

I appreciate any advise you can give me. Thanx

Rob

Hard to tell- but as long as its only on the surface you should be just fine. Try and take some steel wool to it and see if it shines up. A re-surface shouldn't hurt anything since you have it out anyway.

There are many clutch options out there and depending on what you plan to do with the car a stock replacement should do pretty good for you. You can spend anywhere from a couple hundred on a clutch all the way up to over a grand- your pick.

Other than some rust the disk looks in pretty good shape.

Anyone recommend a decent pressure plate?

For a low cost replacement, a LT4 PP and stock LT1 disc works well - for a street car.

Thumbs up

Got the flywheel resurfaced. One less thing I have to worry about:

Looks good- pretty cheap to do while the flywheel is out and good insurance like you said to have one less thing to worry about.
