LT1 slave

ok now I have a weird question
I just got back from the track- I believe its the slave again this has happend twice now. The straps on the piston don't break completely or only one of the two breaks

what happends is the pedal gets alittle hard, then the gears are hard to start, but this time it happend at the track and I totally smoked 1st gear(I smelled clutch for 20 mins after ) .
On the street it spins and grips great but can almost come to a stop in 3rd and not stall.
is there anything I could be missing, any help would be great I lost my first round because of this

ps it "was" a new clutch about 1000 miles ago stock replacement Valeo

I am lost with your thread.
Are you referring to the plastic strap that comes on the slave when it is new?

Same. If those are the straps your talking about, your supposed to cut those off and leave the insulation on the rod end.

I was told not to cut them, they were there to keep the piston straight. So the straps are suppose to be cut.

so that explains it
