LT1 and LS1 Clutches
Re: LT1 and LS1 Clutches
Two completely different designs. The LS1 has a conventional "pusher" release, with the slave cylinder bolted to the front of the tranny, pushing directly on the T/O bearing . The LT1 uses a "pullback" release. Slave mounts on the side of the bellhousing, pushing forward on the fork. The fork pulls the T/O bearing back to release. A lot of the things used in the LT1's are "unique"

Well in that case...since im not exactly rich and im not gonna be puttin many mods on my car within the next year or so would this clutch be a good replacement for the power im puttin down? (i might be puttin more down since i dont have the miss anymore) Or would going all out (for me atleast) with a spec stage1 be a wiser choice? Again i dont have a lot of money to spend.
Re: LT1 and LS1 Clutches
That’s stock clutch...Depends on how much power you planning to make, and how sticky tries you will have. Stock starts to slip badly at around 330RWHP. For light moded car I would recommend SLP clutch...I had 330RWHP Camaro, with Nitto DR on the back and I killed stock clutch within 10k miles
Sebastian
ps. I am pushing 400RWHP and I have Stage 4

Re: LT1 and LS1 Clutches
well im not planning on doing any mods other than maybe appearance until after college cause the engine is getting old and stock parts are wearing out. How much torque can a stock replacement clutch handle?
