LT1 clutch disc replacement?
LT1 clutch disc replacement?
will any 11" 26 spline disc work?
my old disc is oil soaked and i'm sure it will not last long if i put it back in. it was slipping durring my last two road racing events but i'm sure it was due to the oil. i have pulled the motor and replaced every gasket on the 93 LT1 that had 80K on it when i installed it in my CMC car. my local parts store only shows a listing for a kit (flywheel, PP, disc) for $200. i was hoping to find a disc cheep, but they show no listing for just the disc. Jegs list them, but $80 is just too close to $200 for what i'm getting.
do i need to just look for a 11" 26 spline disc, or is this disc specific to the LT1?
just to head off any questions, my car is a CMC road race car that makes 225 RWHP and 285 RWTQ due to class HP/TQ limits and running a twin 33mm restrictor plate. so the stock unit should be enough to take the power.
something w/ no springs in it would be cool to limit failure points.
