LS1 rear in LT1 car?

I am looking into buying a rear out of an LS1 car for cheap. Will this fit in my LT1 car without any mods or custom parts? I have been told the rears are the same, I just want to make sure the brakes and everything interchange. My car is a 95 trans am with rear discs.

To make it work, you'll have to pull the axles to get your LT1 brake backing plates and the caliper mounting plate. The LS1 diff has different mounting plates on them. That's the only physical difference. Oh, and I'm assuming you've gotten one with/without traction control to match your car (whether you do or don't have trac-control? ).
