LS1 clutch slippage until hard acceleration

well my friend has an 00 SS. longtubes, full exhaust and a spec stage 3 clutch, that is pretty much brand new. he got the clutch put in, then waited till he was able to get another rear end cause he blew up his old one, finally he got the new rear end and it was running great for about 4 days. then the clutch started slipping on the highway a little bit in 5th gear when he layed into it a little bit. well its a brand new clutch so we figured it has to be air in the lines or something, but the clutch cannot be bad. well he got it checked out by some other place and they said the clutch was prolly bad and it might be the slave cylinder but its not air in the lines. well the shop is pretty well known but they arent the greatest with late model f-bodies and such so we're kinda unsure about them. anyways, here is basically what happens now:
he started it up last night in his driveway, dropped the clutch and the car didnt even move. well he got it moving on the road and basically, if he stands on it, the clutch slips a ton until about 4,500 rpm then it grabs and nearly smokes the tires in first gear. its kinda like an automatic with a really high stall. the clutch is good because it grabs excelllent in the high RPMs and if it was bad thats where it would be worse. and after a few minutes of driving the clutch seems to be a lot better with not slipping AS MUCH, but its still not even close to what it should be like.

---so basically, what could be wrong with the slave cylinder that would do this, or is there somethign else that we might not be thinking about or something more advanced? ive never had this problem with any of my LT1 cars and ive never really heard of anything with the same deal. i think i explained it pretty well, but if anythigns unclear let me know, im jsut trying to get some ideas or thoughts of what might be up, because it is extremely weird to say the least.lol. thanks

Re: LS1 clutch slippage until hard acceleration

the clutch was installed by Speed INC, and im pretty sure he took it easy on it for while cause he's blown his rear end around 5 or 6 times so he finally got a complete rear end with 2.73s and it was driving well for about a week almost then out of nowhere he was on the highway, put it in 5th gear and got on it a little and he felt it slipping a little. i dont understand how the clutch can be bad if its grabbing like crazy up high but nothing down low really.
