LS-1 T-56 in a LT-1 car???

I see, hear and agree that LT1 have clutch issues. The problem being the pressure plate. I know youu can get a good clutch that will hold, but has anyone though about an LS1 trans in a LT1? Would it work? Is it more trouble than its worth? I haven't ever seen or heard about doing this swap but I also don't hear LS1 guys complaing about clutch issues like I do LT1 guys.

A search would have brought the answers you seek. No, an LS1 T56 will not fit an LT1. You would need LS1 hydraulics, flywheel, clutch, a custom bellhousing (LT1 and LS1 engines have different bolt patterns, and the LS1 T56 has a longer input shaft) and an LS1 T56. Not very cost effective, much easier to drop an aftermarket clutch in. And by the way, the 94-96 LT1 T56 and LS1 T56 are exactly the same internally, aside from the front plate and input shaft. So really it's just stupid.

ok thanks I didn't realize the bellhousing bolt patterns were different. Just an idea I had.
