LOUD shifter rattle at high RPMs (T56)

Is this normal? It cruises perfectly fine but after ~4500 RPMs, it sounds like the shifter is trying to rattle itself right off of the transmission. Except for this and the occasional "clunk" into reverse (throwout bearing?), there is nothing else wrong with it. Could it be a bad aftermarket shifter installation?? Thanks.

If I had bad tranny mounts wouldn't I probably feel it all through the power band during hard acceleration? It can't be the motor mounts because it revs fine in neutral...
