loose flywheel?

when I went to get my new tires installed the guy doing the work told me that my flywheel is loose and that I need to tighten the bolts down. He claims to have several built camaros that he races, but I dont much to much stock in that. What are some symptomes of a loose clutch before I pull the transmission?

Re: loose flywheel?

What prompted him to decide they are loose? If the clutch (pressure plate) was loose I would expect the clutch to slip. Have you noticed any abnormal symptoms?

Re: loose flywheel?

I believe he said he could hear it when he started it up and feel it when he drove it. The car has a relatively new Spect IV clutch in it, which I am assuming is installed correctly. I am noticing a little bit of an unsteady idle/deceleration as well as alot of buffeting that does not seem like normal clutch chatter when letting the clutch out.
