For anyone interested in buying a torque converter, check out this link on LS1tech. It compares a TCI converter to a Precision Industries Vigilante converter. Quality is important!

sorry I realize this is a very old thread but it is exactly what I was searching for. I recently had a dyno performed on a 383 4L60 with a ACC boss hog 3200 stall. The tuner couldn't get the converter to lock up on the dyno at all resulting in low numbers. he said at 6,000 I was losing about 1,000 rpm or so. I saw that posted in this thread it is not supose to be that much slipage above the 3200 stall speed. I am wondering why mine might slip this much at these higher rpms and why couldn't it be locked up during the dyno session....any insight is appreaciated!

Re: Lockup Converters

Have a question about the 4l60e transmission. I know the 4l60 you can get a converter lock-up kit for. I have the 4l60e, converted it to the B&M shifter and would like to have the OD work. Either by switch or whatever means. Its in a 1975 DJ-5
Postal Jeep with the 4.3l TBI. Is it possible to just install the 4l60 converter lock-up sense I have no wires running to my transmission (that I know of). Thanks a bunch
