Lets say i put clutch disk in backwards?
as the post says how would i know if i did put it in facing the wrong way. I have the clutch bleed says that mechanic that looked at it tonite and it still wont go into gear even if car has all 4 tires in the air. So he asked if i could have put the disk in wrong. what would happen if i ddi and how would i know i did before ripped the trans back out for 4th time.
Well if you put the disc in the wrong way, i dont belive the presure plate would bolt upto the flywheel becuase the center will be hitting it. If your saying its back and bolted up fine, then what is your problem? It wont go into gear and it grinds, or is the pedal to hard?
yah its all bolted up fine and dandy, and actually have driven it like 800 miles and i decided to bleed the clutch mroe and that was a mistake cuz now it ont go into gear at all. So i had a mechanic come to my house and bleed the clutch for me and he said it was perfect. Then he asked if the clutch disk could be in backwards and i said well i dont think so. So i think we going to rip the trans out tontie and find out for sure.
years ago i did a lot of clutchs. one time i put one in backwards.
i knew something was wrong as i tightened down the p/plate, but it didn't click in my brain. anyway . when i went and pushed in the peddle it made an awefull noise. that was the raised part of the clutch knocking on the crank bolts.
Doh !!! boss wasn't happy
