kinda similar thread...but torque converter loss

im just making sure...this seems like i have alot of drivetrain loss...
there was a guy at the dyno today with basicallly the same mods a little less than me...
he has an 847 cam with 1.5 rocker mail tune=340hp
i have 306 cam with 1.6 rocker mail tune=302hp
he was a stick and i was a auto with unlocked 3000 stall
i figure the rockers differance made our cams similar...
so why does this make a 40hp differance?
do i lose all that through a converter???

autos always dyno less man. typically 20 hp less with a stock stall. A 3000 is fairly loose and your cam is smaller too. I'd say that look about right.
