Anyone know what would cause this? I can shift fine from 4th to 5th and from 5th to 6th, but the car grinds everytime i try to downshift from 6th to 5th, it will even allow me to shift from 6th into 4th and into 5th even if i dont release the clutch pedal in between doing so. is my 5th gear snychro on its way out? this just started yesterday and ive been avoiding that downshift ever since usually sequencing from 6th to 4th then actually going into 5th with no problems *shrug*

 

Does anyone know what exactly would cause this, and if driving without using 5th gear would keep it from making anything else worse.. im just not in a spot to be replacing a transmission again anytime soon.. Also ive noticed i have a small issue with my master cylinder, is it possible this may cause this symptom? I thought it could but not just in 5th gear, im pretty sure its the snychro just looking for advice and trying to be optimistic. If it is the synchro what am i lookin at as far as replacement? wait till its completely gone and rebuild i assume?
