Installing an transmission temp gauge/sensor in a 93, will either of these work?

Okay, first off, I know I probably won't even need it, but I just thought it'd be neat to have (since I added an air temp, air/fuel ratio, oil temp, boost, and fuel pressure gauges, I figured why not a trans temp gauge? ). Anyways, my Camaro was originally an automatic, and I swapped it to a T56 transmission from a 96 Camaro Z28. Anyways, the only sensors/switches I need are the reverse lights and the speedometer. That leaves the skip shift & reverse lockout completely unused.

I guess more importantly, the question I SHOULD be asking is, are either of these sensors constantly immersed in transmission fluid, or are they sensors that only get a little splashed on it, and are mostly exposed to air (if there's any. I know jack squat about the fluid dynamics and how they work in a T56 or any other manual transmission...)?

In a nutshell, I know I can basically remove the transmission fluid drain plug and thread the small sensor there, but if I can, I'd rather use a hole that I plan on never using, like my skip shift and reverse lockout switches...

Can anyone tell me if I could remove my unused ship shift switch to replace it with my transmission temperature sensor? Is the skip shift module on the transmission completely immersed in fluid, or am I going to have to use something lower, like the transmission fluid drain plug, as I had originally planned to use??
