Idea for adapting a 8.5" 10 bolt?

I've just came across some pics of a GNX rear suspension, after recently learning that they came with a torque arm suspension on the 8.5" 10-bolt. The torque arm was mounted to the diff cover, but on the right side, not the left like our cars. Would it be possible/cost effective to either swap the cover 180* and make a torque arm to fit, or make a new diff cover all together with matching torque arm, that way the stronger 8.5" rear could be used? Just a thought.
