I went and did it this morning!

The roads looked half assed clean this morning. I had just finished up the final touches on the m6 swap yesterday, so I took her down off the blocks for a test drive this morning.

OMG! 8-0!

The car feels like a fricking ANIMAL!

Although trying to take it relativley easy, I inadvertently broke the back tires loose at 50 mph in third gear. Unbelievable!

I am going to love third gear! The car just takes off like a rocket, and climbs to 70mph plus in a heart beat! Other cars on the road look like crawling insects when I get on it.

Wow!

What a rush!

Why did I wait so long to do this mod?

And, as an added bonus, everything seems to look/feel OK!

What clutch, pp and flywheel did you use?

I can't wait to do mine.

How do you like the clutch so far? What made you decide on the Spec Stage 2?
I'm still undecided on which one i want to go with.

Thanks for the info.

It's kind of early to say much about the clutch. The roads here are not great. They are dry but very cold and there is a lot of salt dust around. However, the clutch did grab well enough to break the back tires loose at around 50 mph, so it can't be too bad.

I went with SPEC 2 because I didn't want a real harsh clutch, but I did want something to hold up to 450 hp. I may get there some day, even though I don't plan any more hp mods at this time. Also, I am more interested in lapping/solo 1 type activity and I figured S2 would be adequate for that. If I were uleashing 400+ hp at the drag strip routinely, on sticky tires, I might have moved up to something more radical, but I can't say for sure since that was not really a consideration for me.

I have to say, I was really bored with the car last year. I got doen the LT4 Hot Cam and found it very impressive, drove it around a bit, put in a pb at the 1/4 mile, but all told I didn't drive more than about 2K miles. I can tell already, I am going to put a lot more miles on this year. I just LOVE rowing the gears.
