I think my rearend is shot??

I bought a rolling chassis about a year ago, and i finally got it running good enough to drive it down the road. I took it for a 10 min criuse, then on the way home if i took my foot off the gas it would want to stop. Then it started to thump from the rear, and when i tried to pull over it locked up. I let it sit and looked under the car, and nothing was snaped or hanging. This happend on my road, so i tried to go, but it took hight rpms and it was raping badly. finally i made it to my driveway. i jacked up the rear, and i cant spin the tires in neutral. It also smells like gear oil. Does this sound like my rearend. I dont think its my tranny, because it came out of my 93z which i swaped in my 94z.
Thanks Chad

sounds like it to me, I'm having weird clunks from my rear as well, I think its time to rebuild it, I have 3.73's already, I hope my gears didnt break, but I can still drive it.. I dunno...

Well i took off the cover today. 1st there was no oil in the rear, and 2nd, there was some shavings and pieces of metal
I can hand spin the tires now with force, and it seems to be real loose and sloppy where the drive shaft connects to the rear. There is a nut there, but i dont think it will do me any good at this point. I hope the 93 rear end for sale down the road will fit in my 94
