i bought a 93 Z28 camaro with a six speed transmission two days ago... im having trouble already and i have no idea whats wrong with it. i cant afford to have it looked at so maybe if i describe it someone will know something that can help.... okay , well when i put the car in gear and let the clutch out there is a thumping noise near the back passenger side wheel... the more gas i give the louder the thump, i cant red line the car because it cuts out at like 4200 rpms. im not driving it until i know whats wrong, so somebody please help!!!!!!

 

Sounds like a broken transmission mount to me.....does the noise come from under the car, like the trans tunnel area?

 

yeah i think so... thats all bad huh? do you think its going to cost alot to get it fixed???

 

i think you can change ti your self dude. Just jack the whole car up, stands and everything and you should be able to see see the mount towards the end of the transmission.

 

Its not too hard, the mount will be no more than 20 bux, and an hours worth of wrenching MAX.
